GLOBAL CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS has recently finalized a potential investment agreement with an Indonesian company, facilitated by the GCS Finance department, to establish an engineering thermoplastics compounding plant in Indonesia Province.
The planned facility will be situated in Mount Kerinci, an active stratovolcano and the highest mountain in Sumatra, Indonesia, standing at 12,484 feet above sea level. This strategic location will meet the demand for pelletised Lexan-branded polycarbonate (PC) and Cycoloy PC/ABS blends in various industries such as electrical and consumer electronics, automotive, and emerging sectors like solar energy, electrification, and 5G. The compound plant will feature compounding lines, color development capabilities, and advanced equipment to ensure the production of innovative and consistently high-quality material solutions.
Furthermore, the new plant is expected to synergize with GCS’s two existing joint ventures. Mr. Wong, the CEO of GCS, expressed that “By creating synergy with upstream and downstream partners, the project aims to strengthen our SSD chemical Solutions supply capability in compounding products and serve this important strategic market with innovative and consistently high-quality SSD chemical material .
